Noida: A frightening incident has come to light involving a family traveling from Noida to Delhi in a Uber cab. The couple, along with their minor daughter, were en route when the police allegedly signaled the vehicle to stop at an intersection for a routine check.
However, due to incomplete documents, the cab driver chose to flee the spot and began driving rashly in an attempt to evade the police. The terrified family recorded the ordeal from inside the vehicle, capturing the driver’s reckless behavior. The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
The viral video begins with a woman pleading with the cab driver to stop the speeding vehicle, warning that they could run into trouble if he continues driving recklessly. Moments later, the video shows the cab narrowly missing a collision with another car.
Despite repeated requests from the man and the woman in the back seat, the driver ignores their desperate pleas. The man even offers to pay the fine on the driver's behalf, but the cabbie refuses to stop.
"Meri gadi band kar denge, paper tute hue hain," the driver says, which roughly translates to, “They will seize my car; my documents are incomplete.” The video then ends abruptly, likely due to the impact of the rash driving.
In a second video, the couple’s young daughter can be heard crying loudly in fear, as her parents continue urging the driver to stop the car. The woman can be heard repeatedly saying, “Bhaiya, please gadi rok do,” which translates to, “Brother, please stop the car.”
At one point, the woman even offers a compromise, saying that if the driver doesn’t want to stop completely, he should at least slow down so they can get out safely. Eventually, the cab driver pulls over. The moment the family steps out and shuts the door, the driver speeds away from the scene.
The man passenger has been identified as Sanjay Mohan, who shared the video on X on Thursday.
"A horrible experience with @Uber @Uber_Support , today me and my family was en-route to CP from noida. Near to Parthala Bridge Noida a police intercepter vehicle asked the driver to stop the car but the driver didn’t stop and trying to escape from police vehicle," the man said on X.
The family has claimed that the man was fleeing the police after an accident. A crack is also visible on the car's windshield.
