Bengaluru: A day after an unidentified woman's body was found stuffed in a sack and dumped in a garbage truck in Bengaluru, an initial investigation revealed that she was killed by her live-in partner. The accused, Mohammed Shamshuddin, has been arrested by the police. After the body was found, the police started scanning the CCTV footage and on the basis of other evidence they managed to track the 33-year-old accused, reported NDTV.

The accused is reportedly a native of Assam. As per the report, Shamshuddin was in a relationship with Asha for a year and a half. They reportedly lived together in a rented house in South Bengaluru's Hulimavu.

As per the report, Asha and Shamshuddin were married separately and had two children each. However, they reportedly pretended to be husband and wife for the society. Asha was a widow and worked with the Urban Company.

As Lokesh B Jagalasar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), the two had an argument over some issue which later turned violent. Shamshuddin had reportedly strangled Asha to death. He later dumped the body in a garbage truck. The incident was caught on CCTV.

A case was filed at Bengaluru's Channammanakere Achchukattu Police Station. "The woman's hands and neck were tied, and the body was inside a gunny sack. BBMP staff alerted us about the discovery. We have registered a murder case and are investigating," Joint Commissioner of Police C. Vamsi Krishna stated.

Earlier this month, another shocking case surfaced from Bengaluru, where a man allegedly stabbed his lover 17 times in a hotel room. However, the matter surfaced two days later. The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Harini. The accused, 25-year-old Yashas, and Harini were residents of Kengeri, a western suburb in Bengaluru, reported NDTV. The alleged crime reportedly took place in an OYO hotel room in Poorna Prajna Layout. The victim is reported to be a married woman and a mother of two children.
