A shocking case of murder has surfaced in Vikhroli, where a 37-year-old married woman was brutally killed by a man who had allegedly lured her into a relationship. The Vikhroli police arrested the accused, Hanasa Shafiq Shah (25), within eight hours of the incident. During interrogation, the accused confessed to killing the woman because she was allegedly pressuring him to marry her. However, the police suspect there may be other motives involved.

The victim has been identified as Suman Suraj Nirmal, a resident of a chawl near the fish market in Vikhroli East. Her husband, Surajlal, works as a security guard, while Suman was employed at a bag-making factory in Sion-Dharavi. It was at this workplace that she came in contact with Hanasa Shah, who soon developed a relationship with her.

According to the police, the incident came to light around 5 AM on Tuesday when Suman's husband returned home from his night shift and found her lying in a pool of blood. Her throat had been slit, and her hands and legs were tied. He raised an alarm and informed the police.

The Vikhroli police reached the scene and sent the body for post-mortem at Rajawadi Hospital. An FIR under murder charges was registered against an unidentified person. Simultaneously, Crime Branch Unit 7 also began a parallel probe.

Investigators scanned CCTV footage and the victim's phone records, which pointed to Hanasa Shah as the prime suspect. He was tracked and arrested from Dharavi on Tuesday afternoon. During questioning, Hanasa confessed to the crime, claiming he killed her due to constant pressure to marry.

However, officials have not ruled out other possible motives and are continuing their investigation to uncover the full truth behind the murder. The case has sent shockwaves through the community and raised questions about the safety of women, even within their homes.
