Guwahati: In a disturbing case from Assam’s Dibrugarh district, a local businessman has been allegedly murdered in what appears to be a cold-blooded plan hatched by his own wife and teenage daughter.
The victim, Uttam Gogoi, was a resident of Lahang Gaon in Lahowal, police arrested Gogoi’s wife, Boby Gogoi, and their school-going daughter, currently studying in Class 9, were directly involved in planning his murder with the help of daughter's boy friend.
Two contract killers, identified as Dipjyoti Buragohain, daughter's boyfriend and Gouranga Patra, have also been arrested in connection with the crime and recovered money and gold ornaments that looted after the brutal killing to gave shape of dacoity.
What’s even more disturbing is the alleged involvement of Gogoi’s minor daughter, who was reportedly in a relationship with one of the killers, Dipjyoti Buragohain. According to police, the mother and daughter paid the duo several lakhs of rupees and gave them gold jewellery to carry out the murder.
After committing the crime, the group allegedly tried to pass off the murder as a robbery gone wrong, to divert suspicion.
While the exact motive behind the murder is still unclear, further questioning is underway to uncover what led the mother-daughter duo to plan such a brutal act.
