Machilipatnam: A shocking incident has come to light from Andhra Pradesh's Machilipatnam. Here, an elderly retired teacher allegedly sexually assaulted a minor student. The accused has been identified as Devendra Rao. Due to the alertness of her parents, the girl was saved.

Despite registering a case ten days ago, the police have not taken the teacher into custody. Although a POCSO case has been filed, reportedly, efforts are being made to reach a compromise.

A CCTV footage of the accused molesting the victim has surfaced. The video is of the morning hours of 17 May.

Rao served as a Physical Training (PT) teacher at Machilipatnam Government Ranji High School from 1983 to 1995. Reports suggest he also harassed female teachers during his tenure.
