Fatima Sana Shaikh is undoubtedly one of the most talented actresses that we have in the industry. She started her career as a child actor, and later made her debut as a lead in Aamir Khan starrer Dangal. She has left a mark with her performances in movies like Dangal, Ludo, Ajeeb Daastaans, Dhak Dhak, and others.
Recently, during an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Fatima opened up about the shocking casting couch experience that she had to face in the South film industry. The actress stated, “He (casting agent) asked me, ‘You will be ready to do everything, right?’ I told him that I will be working hard and will do what is required for the role, but he kept saying that and I played dumb because I wanted to see how low can he get.”
The actress also spoke about another incident that she faced in Hyderabad where some producers would talk about casting couch openly, but not directly. Fatima said, “We were in a room, and the producers would talk about it very openly, giving indications that you have to meet people. They wouldn’t say it outright, but it was clear what they meant. However, not everyone is like that."
In 2015, Fatima starred in a Telugu film titled Nuvvu Nenu Okkatavudam; after that she has not done any movies down South.
Talking about her upcoming movies, Fatima has some interesting films lined up like Metro In Dino, Ul Jalool Ishq, and Aap Jaisa Koi. Metro In Dino has been in the pipeline for more than two years. The movie was slated to release in 2023, but was postponed to 2024, and it was delayed once again. The new release date is not yet announced.
