Actor Siddharth Nigam, who made his Bollywood debut as a child actor in the 2013 film Dhoom 3 — was recently in the news after his mother revealed that he was replaced by Ajay Devgn's nephew, Aaman Devgan, in the film Azaad. The film marks the debut of both Aaman and Rasha Thadani, daughter of Raveena Tandon. Nigam’'s mother, Vibha Nigam, expressed disappointment, stating that they waited for a year only to be replaced by a star kid.
Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Siddharth's mother said, "Hum ek saal tak wait mein the, mein bohot khush thi, sochke Siddharth launch ho jayega. Script bahut acchi lagi thi mujhe, aur achanak se do saal baad Siddharth ne mujhe Azaad ka poster dikhaya, aur maine kaha ki yeh kon hai? Isne kaha ki yeh Ajay Devgn ka nephew hai. Life mein mujhe peheli baar bura laga hoga, par maine Siddharth ko bola nahi. Iss type ki jab cheezien hoti hai, as a mother, bohot bura laga tha aur meine poster mein dekha ki dono star kids hai. Toh yaha par woh farak aa gaya."
Further, Siddharth stated that he doesn't blame anyone, as this is the nature of the film industry, and he felt there was no point in questioning the makers about why he was replaced by Aaman.
He added, "It’'s more of a personal realisation and pain. You get your hopes up thinking something might work out. We wait for an entire year, and then we see the teaser. So after watching it, we just thought, 'Oh, okay. Let’s move on.'"
On the work front, Siddharth was seen recently seen in Hai Junoon!, which premiered on May 16 on Jio+Hotstar.
The series also starred Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sumedh Mudgalkar, and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others.
