Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting a raid at Bollywood actor Dino Morea's residence on Friday afternoon, at Villa Morea, located in Bandra West, Mumbai. These raids are part of an investigation into the Mithi River Scam, which has also prompted the Mumbai Police to register a case. The ED is targeting various contractors and BMC officials involved in the scheme.
The scam involves an estimated Rs 65 crore, with a total of 13 people accused in this case. The ED initiated the raid on Friday at noon at Morea's home. Dino Morea is a well-known actor famous for his roles in films like "Om Shanti Om," "Happy New Year," and "Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi." Recently, he appeared in the comedy-drama film "Housefull 5" and more.
The Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is investigating the Mithi River cleaning scam. Bollywood actor Dino Morea and his brother, Santino Morea, appeared before the EOW for questioning. Dino Morea arrived at the EOW office at 1 PM and underwent nearly six hours of interrogation on Wednesday.
According to EOW officials, there are financial connections between Dino Morea and the arrested suspect Ketan Kadam. Investigators discovered approximately 8 to 10 suspicious bank transactions between the two from 2018 to 2022, amounting to around Rs 14 to 18 lakh. Authorities believe that some of the funds Kadam received from contractors may have been transferred to Dino Morea’s bank account.

ED Searches Multiple Locations Across Mumbai Relates to Mithi River Scam
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at multiple locations across Mumbai on Friday as part of its ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities and corruption related to the Mithi River cleanup project.
This action by the ED follows the Mumbai sessions court granting bail to Jay Joshi, a representative of Virgo Specialities Pvt Ltd, who had been arrested in connection with the case. Joshi's bail had previously been denied by a magistrate court on May 22, which stated that the investigation was still in its preliminary stages and that more time was needed to determine the specific roles of the accused. Although the sessions court has granted him bail, the detailed order is still pending.
