Popular television actress Lataa Saberwal announced separation from actor-husband Sanjeev Seth on June 21 after 15 years of marriage. While Lataa had shared a social media post to make the announcement, Sanjeev was tight-lipped about their separation. However, in one of his latest interviews, the actor-turned-YouTuber broke his silence and called their separation 'sad'.
During a conversation with ETimes, Sanjeev said, "What has happened is very sad. But I can’t keep sulking and crying over it. Life goes on, and one has to move on. I am concentrating on my work now."
"As of now, I want to spend time with my children and focus on my life ahead," he added. For those unversed, Sanjeev and Lataa have a son. The actor has two children from his previous marriage to actress Resham Tipnis.
Lataa's official statement on separation
In her official statement, Lataa wrote, "After prolonged silence...I declare that I (Lataa Saberwal) have been separated from my husband (Mr. Sanjeev Seth). I give gratitude to him for giving me a lovely son. I wish him all the best for his future life."
"I request everyone to please respect my and my family’s peace and not to ask any questions or call regarding this. GRATITUDE," the actress added.
The news came as a surprise to many fans who have followed the couple's journey for years. Lataa and Sanjeev, who met on the sets of a TV show, had been one of the admired couples of Indian television.
They had also worked together on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, where they portrayed on-screen parents of the lead characters, played by Hina Khan and Karan Mehra.
On the work front, after being an actress for over 20 years, Lataa took a break and became an Image Consultant. She is also a certified nutritionist. "Embarking on my new journey of health and fitness to help everyone love healthy, confident life," Lataa's bio on her YouTube channel read.
According to media reports, she will be seen as a contestant in the upcoming season of Salman Khan's Bigg Boss.
On the other hand, Sanjeev has also become a content creator and food vlogger. He is currently seen in the daily soap Jhanak.
