Popular television actress Lataa Saberwal revealed on Saturday (June 21) that she has officially separated from her husband, actor Sanjeev Seth after 15 years of marriage. The actress, best known for her roles in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Vivah, shared the news on social media, requesting privacy and peace for herself and her family during this time.
In her official statement, Lataa wrote, "After prolonged silence...I declare that I (Lataa Saberwal) have been separated from my husband (Mr. Sanjeev Seth). I give gratitude to him for giving me a lovely son. I wish him all the best for his future life."
"I request everyone to please respect my and my family’s peace and not to ask any questions or call regarding this. GRATITUDE," the actress added.
The news came as a surprise to many fans who have followed the couple's journey for years. Lataa and Sanjeev, who met on the sets of a TV show, had been one of the admired couples of Indian television.
They had also worked together on Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, where they portrayed on-screen parents of the lead characters, played by Hina Khan and Karan Mehra.
While Lataa chose to keep the reasons for their separation private, her statement has garnered support and empathy from industry colleagues and fans alike. Fans have since flooded the comments section of her post with messages of strength, support, and respect.
Sanjeev is yet to react to the news of their separation.
On the work front, after being an actress for over 20 years, Lataa took a break and became an Image Consultant. She is also a certified nutritionist. "Embarking on my new journey of health and fitness to help everyone love healthy, confident life," Lataa's bio on her YouTube channel read.
On the other hand, Sanjeev has also become a content creator and food vlogger.
