The movie received a mixed response from audiences and critics. Sabdham had a box office collection of around Rs 7.52 crore in India. After a few weeks of its theatrical release, the horror film is making buzz for its digital release. The film is set to be released digitally on March 28, 2025. It will be available on the popular OTT giant Prime Video. It also became the 9th highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025.
Storyline of Sabdham
The story follows a paranormal investigator named Ruben, played by Aadhi, who is called to investigate a series of deaths at a medical college in Munnar. Initially, Ruben takes the case lightly, dismissing the first death as a suicide. However, the plot intensifes when he realises that the situation is far more complex than he thought, discovering a link between the deaths and a lecturer at the college.
As he develops his hypotheses, he encounters Avantika, portrayed by Lakshmi Menon. She is a resident physician and junior lecturer conducting her thesis on hallucinations, and she does not believe in the paranormal. The situation escalates when a third student dies under mysterious circumstances. Will Ruben be able to solve the case?
