Rapper Tory Lanez was stabbed in prison multiple times on Monday by another inmate, and he was rushed to a hospital. His team shared a statement on the rapper's official Instagram account. The statement read, "Tory was stabbed 14 times - including 7 wounds to his back, 4 to his torso, 2 to the back of his head, and 1 to the left side of his face. Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own."
The statement further read, "Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through. He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support."
Attack On Tory Lanez In Prison
According to a report in TMZ, Tory was attacked by another prisoner in a housing unit at California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi around 7:20 am on Monday. A California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation representative confirmed it to the portal.
The staff of the prison reached the scene and started giving first aid to Tory after calling 911. The rapper was later rushed to a hospital for further treatment.
Sources told TMZ that Tory was in the yard of California Correctional Institution at Tehachapi when another inmate stabbed him. While it is not yet known why the rapper was attacked, sources told the portal that he was taken by ambulance to a nearby civilian hospital in Bakersfield.
Why Is Tory Lanez In Prison?
The rapper is in prison as he is serving his 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. It was in 2023, when he was convicted sentenced to 10 years in prison.
