The first Monday of May once again belonged to bold couture and star-studded style statements, as the Met Gala 2025 rolled out its iconic red carpet. But while the event usually sees fashion heavyweights like A$AP Rocky and Bad Bunny take over headlines, this year, the global spotlight shifted east toward two of India's biggest icons: Shah Rukh Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
Yes, the megastars didn't just show up; they dominated the Gala. The Bollywood names outshone international stars on the red carpet, topping the Men's Power Rankings released by The Hollywood Reporter in partnership with data analytics firm Launchmetrics.

Shah Rukh Khan in Sabyasachi
For his much-anticipated Met Gala debut, SRK donned a striking all-black look custom-designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. His ensemble featured a floor-length tailored coat, detailed with monogrammed Japanese horn buttons. The sharply cut silhouette, with peak lapels and a single-breasted finish, was paired with a deep black crepe de Chine silk shirt, worn open at the chest, and matching wool trousers.
Tied at the waist was a pleated satin kamarbandh, offering both structure and softness. Shah Rukh’s look was elevated with layered talismanic jewellery, including a diamond-studded ‘K’ pendant, a star brooch, and stacked rings. He completed the ensemble with a dramatic 18k gold Bengal Tiger Head Cane, encrusted with sapphires and old-cut diamonds.
Diljit Dosanjh in Prabal Gurung
Making a historic debut, Diljit walked the Met Gala steps in a look that paid homage to Indian royalty, specifically Maharaja Bhupinder Singh. Designed by Prabal Gurung, his outfit featured an elegant ivory sherwani paired with a traditional turban and regal jewellery, including an elaborate necklace and heirloom-style rings.
What made the look truly unforgettable was the attention to detail: a ceremonial sword, a draped cape embroidered with the map of Punjab, and script in Gurmukhi, making it a powerful statement of identity, heritage, and pride.
