Govinda ruled the big screens in 90s, but after the early 2000s, his career saw a downfall. The actor was last seen in a movie titled Rangeela Raja which was released in 2019; after that, he has not done any films. Recently, during an interview with Zoom, Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, opened up about the actor not doing movies and stated that she feels that people around her husband are ruining his career.
She stated, "Main Govinda toh hamesha ek baat bolti hu, aap ek legend star ho, aap 90s ke raja tha. Aapke gaano pe aaj kal ke bachche bhi dance karte hai. Maine hamesha unko bola hai, aap apni sangat achchi rakho. Aaj aapke jaisa legend star kyu ghar pe baithe hai? Aapke league ke log kitna kaam karte hai, Anil Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff ji. But, aap kyu nahi kaam kar rahe ho? Main meri beti, mera beta, we are dying to see him on screen (I always tell Govinda one thing, you are a legend star, you were the king of the 90s. Even today's children dance to your songs. I have always told him to keep his company good. Why is a legend star like you sitting at home today? People of your league like Anil Kapoor, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff ji, they are doing so much work. But why are you not working? I, my daughter, my son, we are dying to see him on screen)."
Sunita Ahuja Calls People Around Govinda His 'Chamchas'
Sunita further said that the people around Govinda are not telling him the truth. If he says 'yes', they say 'yes'. The star's wife revealed that for some money, they are ruining the actor's career.
She said, "Agar woh tum logo ko help bhi kar raha hai, toh usko achcha marg dikhao. 'Govinda ji abhi 90s ki picture nahi chalti hai, abhi 2025 hogaya hai. Aap 90s ke style ke picture banoge abhi koi nahi dekhega'. Do kaudi ke paiso ke liye uski zindagi barbaad kar rahe ho. Yeh nahi bolenge 'Chi Chi bhaiya weight lose karo, handsome lago' (If he is also helping you people, then show him the right path. 'Govinda ji, 90s style movies don't work now, it is 2025. Govinda's Comeback
A few months ago, when Govinda had come on The Great Indian Kapil Show, he had revealed that he is planning his comeback and will be seen in three movies, Bayen Haath Ka Khel, Pinky Darling, and Len Den: It's All About Business. However, there's no update on any of these movies yet.
