Actor-comedian Rajiv Thakur, who was seen in the previous seasons of The Great Indian Kapil Show, has been missing from the ongoing season. Recently, he reacted to his absence from Kapil Sharma's show.
During a conversation with Pinkvilla, Rajiv joked that he has been kicked out of the show. "No one takes such a long break from a big show, obviously, you must have been removed," he said.
However, he clarified that he is kidding and stated that their dates didn't match. "They were calling me in between. I did one episode, but then I didn't have dates for the next. For me, once I commit to something, I like to stick to it. They also have strict time constraints, needing to fit everything into a 55-minute episode. With Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, and the guests already having so much to do, there's very little space left for anyone else," he said.

Rajiv was seen in both the previous seasons of the show. The third season started streaming on Netflix from June 2025.
It saw the return of Archana Puran Singh, Sunil Grover, Krushna, and Kiku Sharda. Navjot Singh Sidhu has also reunited with Kapil for the ongoing season. The show has been created by Kapil Sharma and is produced by Kapil, Akshit Lahoria and Gurjot Singh.
Rajiv began his career anchoring youth events and performing in university theatre, winning multiple Best Actor awards. He gained initial visibility with the Punjabi comedy show Hasdey Hasaundey Ravo and rose to prominence as a finalist in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge III.
His TV breakthrough came with Comedy Circus and long-running roles on Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo and The Kapil Sharma Show.
Recently, he showcased his versatility by playing a terrorist in Netflix's IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack and his performance was much loved by the audience.
