Isha Chhabra, 33, who allegedly trespassed into actor Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra West, has a prior criminal record. Initially, the police stated that she had no such history. However, further investigation revealed that a case had been registered against her on April 28 at Amboli Police Station for allegedly assaulting and using criminal force to deter a public servant from performing their duty. These two incidents suggest that Chhabra may be a habitual troublemaker.
A Bandra police officer confirmed that the April case was filed while Chhabra was residing in Andheri West. She later moved to Carter Road, Khar West, on May 1, 2025.
At the time of her arrest for trespassing, Chhabra claimed she was a junior artist and simply wanted to meet Salman Khan. The police initially believed she had no prior criminal background. However, the discovery of the Amboli case changed that narrative and raised concerns about her behaviour.
According to the FIR, on April 28, around 11:20 a.m., Chhabra arrived at the Andheri RTO office and approached two female clerks, including Susmita Bhogale, 53. She claimed her car had been wrongly registered in the name of one Sneha Pandey and asserted that she had never sold the vehicle nor entered into any agreement or transaction with Pandey. She demanded that the vehicle be immediately re-registered in her name.
The clerks explained that Pandey had submitted valid documents, including a loan application, and based on that, the car was legally registered in her name. They also informed Chhabra that this information had already been communicated to her in response to an RTI application.
Unhappy with the response, Chhabra allegedly became aggressive, yelled at the staff, and attempted to pull a computer off a desk, damaging its stand. The RTO staff then dialled 100 and requested police assistance.
Despite attempts by clerks Bhogale and Vrushali Kale, 35, to calm her down, Chhabra continued verbally abusing them. When Kale tried to record the incident on her mobile phone, Chhabra allegedly snatched the phone, twisted Kale’s hand, issued threats, and stormed out of the office.
Outside the office, Chhabra attempted to flee in an Ola cab while still holding Kale’s phone. When Bhogale tried to retrieve the phone, Chhabra allegedly punched her in the face, causing the phone to fall and break. By then, the Amboli police had arrived, apprehended Chhabra, and brought her to the police station.
Clerk Vrushali Kale filed a complaint, and an FIR was registered against Chhabra under sections 132 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of duty), 121(2) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt to deter a public servant from duty), 324(2) (mischief), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
In the early hours of May 20, around 3:30 a.m., Chhabra entered the premises of Galaxy Apartments and reached the lift. When questioned by the security guard, she reportedly claimed that actor Salman Khan had called her there. This was later confirmed to be false. The Bandra police arrested her, and she is currently in judicial custody.
