Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly, has been without the character Vanraj Shah since Sudhanshu Pandey's exit. Earlier today, rumours surfaced that the makers had finalised Ronit Roy to step into the role. Sudhanshu quit the show midway in 2024 after being a part of it for four years, though he did not disclose the exact reason for his departure. However, Ronit has now addressed the speculation.
Ronit Roy On Joining Anupamaa
Reacting to the reports, Ronit told TellyChakkar, "I'm not doing Anupamaa - the news is completely false, and I won't be playing Vanraj."

According to several media reports, Roy was set to make a grand entry in Anupamaa as Vanraj Shah, whom the lead character often refers to as 'Mr Shah'. In the current storyline, Anupamaa, played by Rupali, is shown struggling and working hard to rebuild her life in the bustling city of Mumbai by leveraging her cooking and dancing talents.

Gaurav Khanna Hints At His Return
A few months ago, Gaurav Khanna, who won hearts as Anuj Kapadia in Anupamaa, exited the show in 2024 following the announcement of a new leap. However, in April this year, he teased a possible comeback, stating that Anuj, for him, is 'a comma, not a full stop.'
The actor told Pinkvilla, "Rajan (Shahi) ne abhi character ko maara nahi hai, just that story mein space nahi hain. Lekin yeh Indian television hai, jab Mihir (character from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) zinda ho sakta hai, aise bohot saare examples hai. Lekin uska yeh matlab nahi mein wapas aa raha hoon, but never say never! It's a comma, but line has moved forward."
Premiered in 2020, the show continues to be a top-rated Indian television show, consistently maintaining its position with strong viewership to remain at the top
