Before the release, Sitaare Zameen Par had made it to the headlines because of an issue with the Central Board Of Film Certification. The CBFC had asked for a few changes in the film, and reportedly, Aamir was not ready to accept them. However, later the film was released with the changes. This week, Kajol's starrer Maa is slated for release, and according to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the movie has been passed by the CBFC without any cuts. Despite being a horror film, it has received a U/A certificate.

A source told the portal, "The CBFC’s Examining Committee didn’t cut a single shot, though a few scenes are disturbing. And that’s not all. They also allowed the film to have a U/A 16+ rating. This means that the under-18 crowd can also view this film.”

Few things CBFC asked the makers to do is to increase the disclaimer time, add about 'anti-girl child and human sacrifice' details, and mention the title of the film in Hindi as well.

Changes In Sitaare Zameen Par

In Sitaare Zameen Par, CBFC had asked for a few changes. The makers were asked to replace words like 'Michael Jackson' with ‘lovebirds’ and ‘Business Woman’ with ‘Business Person’. Also, a quote of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was added in the starting credits of the film.
