The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has demanded the immediate suspension of actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh's social media accounts in India after he dropped the trailer of his upcoming film, Sardaar Ji 3, starring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The film body also called for a nationwide ban on his shows and concerts.
The AICWA wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and stated, "At a time when the entire country -- across all ideologies and beliefs -- is united against Pakistan, this cinematic collaboration with a Pakistani artist is not just insensitive, but a stab in the heart of national dignity."
It further mentioned, "It raises grave suspicion that Sardaar Ji 3 may have been covertly funded by Pakistani entities and backed by anti-national interests. Further, multiple Pakistani collaborators are involved in this project. This is not merely about casting; this is a direct affront to national sentiment, an act of cultural treason, and a commercial insult to our martyrs. No Indian citizen with even an ounce of patriotism would justify glorifying or promoting any Pakistani connection, especially at a time like this."

'Ban Diljit Dosanjh, suspend his accounts': AICWA
Listing its demands, the AICWA wrote, "We demand immediate suspension of all social media accounts of Diljit within Indian jurisdiction, complete takedown of all songs and content involving him, and permanent nationwide ban on all his live concerts."
The film body also urged that no government or private institute should associate with the singer and that an investigation must be launched to check the funding of Sardaar Ji 3.
"AICWA has taken the strongest possible stand: we have officially banned actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh from the Indian film industry. We have instructed all production houses, channels, OTT platforms, concert organisers, music companies, and artists across the country to boycott him entirely. No Indian artist shall share stage space, screen presence, or collaborate with him in any capacity henceforth," the statement concluded.
Diljit Dosanjh on working with Hania Aamir
While Diljit is yet to react to the boycott calls, he said in an interview with BBC that Sardaar Ji 3 was shot with Hania before the Pahalgam attack in April. He also mentioned that the producers cannot afford to lose the money that has been invested in the film.
"When I signed the film, everything was fine. Now, the situation is not in our hands. So if the producers want to release it abroad, I support them," he said.
Sardaar Ji 3 will only release out of India on June 27, 2025.
