Amid tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, singer Mika Singh strongly criticised fellow artist Diljit Dosanjh for promoting his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the lead role. Despite the film being shot much before the attack, Diljit's continued promotions, including sharing the trailer and other assets, have sparked outrage online, with many questioning the timing and casting.
Taking to his Instagram story, Mika Singh shared his quote which read, "Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn't going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly. Before releasing any content that involves artists from across the border, they should think twice - especially when our nation's dignity is involved."

Without naming anyone, the singer further mentioned, "There was a film featuring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor (Abir Gulaal) that many of us opposed, and yet, some still don't seem to get the message. What's more shocking is that a fake singer, after doing 10 shows in India with thousands of fans buying tickets, has now disappeared - leaving fans betrayed and helpless (sic)."

While Mika did not name Diljit directly, the post included Diljit's image, making it evident whom he was addressing.
Sardaar Ji 3, which continues the popular Punjabi comedy franchise, has come under scrutiny mainly due to the casting of Hania at a time when the Indian entertainment industry is under pressure to distance itself from cross-border collaborations.
Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of several tourists, there has been a renewed call for a blanket ban on Pakistani artists in India. In this context, many see Diljit's decision to promote the film as insensitive, even if the project was completed before the tragic incident.
Makers react to the controversy
In an official statement on Tuesday (June 24), the makers wrote, "This is to bring to everyone's kind notice that the film named, Sardaarji 3, was shot well before the prevailing situation that our country is facing now and it was never ever the case that any Pakistani artist was signed or was engaged after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam."
They added, "We stand united with our country and our fellow countrymen during this sensitive time. Considering the same, we had decided not to release the film or any of its promotional content in India until the situation becomes opportune."
