The movie revolves around Shrirenu (R Madhavan), a 42-year-old man from Jamshedpur who teaches Sanskrit in a school. He is single and a virgin. Through an arranged marriage set up, he meets Madhu, a 32-year-old woman from Kolkata, who is a French teacher. They meet, romance blossoms between them, and they get engaged. However, Shri comes to know a secret about Madhu, and that becomes the reason for their breakup. So, will there be a happy ending for Shri and Madhu’s love story? You need to watch the film to know that.
Aap Jaisa Koi is written by Radhika Anand and Jehan Handa, and it is directed by Vivek Soni. The storyline of the film is not similar to Meenakshi Sundareshwar, but a few elements like the arranged marriage set up, the involvement of the families, and different point of view of the leads; these things do make both the movies look very similar.
However, Soni’s narration keeps us hooked. In the last 30 minutes, the film’s pace becomes slow, but thankfully, it doesn’t bore us. There are some funny scenes in the movie, and even some light-hearted moments that will surely get a smile on your face. But one major negative point about Aap Jaisa Koi is that the two big twists are very predictable. You will easily guess them, and that’s why the shock value is missing.
Aap Jaisa Koi Review – Actors’ Performances
The casting of the film is just amazing. R Madhavan fits the bill as a 42-year-old single man who is looking for love. He has performed wonderfully! But the show stealer is Fatima Sana Shaikh. Just like Meenakshi Sundareshwar, here the female lead has a stronger part to play, and Fatima has nailed it. Also, she is looking gorgeous in the movie!
The supporting cast is very impressive. Ayesha Raza, Namit Das, Manish Chaudhary, Shriyam Bhagnani, and Shubhronil Chatterjee, all of them are fantastic in their respective role. Especially, Ayesha Raza!

The music of Aap Jaisa Koi is decent. It suits the film’s theme, but don’t expect any chartbuster songs.
