Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas was brutally trolled online after she was asked to choose between hot dogs and vada pav, and she instantly picked the former. As netizens said that she was not the "desi girl" anymore, the actress took to her social media and reacted to the chatter herself.
"Wow bro. Didn't know there was a syllabus for being desi. It's not that serious (sic)," she wrote, sharing a video which trolled her.
What is the viral video?
For those unversed, Priyanka was asked to choose between a list of Indian and American food items at the premiere of her film, Heads of State. It began with the choice between empanadas and samosas, and the actress took some time before picking both. She was then given a choice between enchiladas and chicken tikka masala, and again, PeeCee appeared to be confused, before choosing both.
Lastly, she was asked to pick one between hot dogs and vada pav, and within a blink, she replied, "This would be a hot dog. I love a vada pav but hot dog's my weakness."
As the video went viral, netizens called her 'pardesi girl', and commented how she has forgotten her Indian roots after moving to the US.
Priyanka Chopra's upcoming projects
On the work front, PeeCee is soon set to make her comeback in Indian films with SS Rajamouli's next with south superstar Mahesh Babu. The film has been titled 'SSMB29' tentatively.
A few months ago, Priyanka was in India and she was spotted shooting for the film in Odisha with a massive crew. While not much has been revealed about the project yet, it will reportedly hit the theatres in 2026.
In Hollywood, PeeCee was recently seen in Heads Of State, which also starred John Cena and Idris Elba in lead roles.
