The makers of Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's Son of Sardaar 2 unveiled the trailer of the film on Friday (July 11). Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the trailer opens with a dose of nostalgia from Son of Sardaar, drawing viewers back into Ajay's character Jassi's vibrant and chaotic world in Son of Sardaar 2. Bursting with all the elements of a comedy and drama, the trailer promises a rollercoaster ride filled with entertainment.
The trailer kicks off on a humourous note, with Ajay's character watching an elderly woman, whom he refers to as 'bebe (mother or grandmother in Punjabi)', perform a pole dance, only for her to suddenly collapse. This quirky opening sets the tone for a comedy of errors.
As the trailer unfolds, a host of lively characters are introduced, all entangled in the love story of Ajay and Mrunal. The duo is on a mission to get someone close to them married, setting off a chain of events filled with action, drama, and laughter.
Soon, during one of the scenes, Ajay takes a dig at Pakistan. Interacting with those around him, including Kubbra Sait, he said, "Pehli toh sirf janani thi, ab janani upar se Pakistani. Bomb phodhte ho tum log mere desh pe (You drop bombs in our country)."
In another scene, there's a reference to Sunny Deol's iconic character from the film Border. Ajay can also be seen dressed as an Army officer in the trailer. The video also features a glimpse of late actor Mukul Dev in his final on-screen appearance, joined by Vindu Dara Singh, Ravi Kishan, and others.
With Jassi, expect a blend of class, mass appeal, and unapologetic desi flair. The film’s tagline poses a cheeky question - "He survived Punjab, but will he survive Scotland too?" With this, the makers have hinted at the chaos and comedy that awaits.
The film is all set to hit the big screens on July 25, 2025.
