The International Management Institute (IMI) in New Delhi celebrated its 40th Convocation Ceremony, awarding diplomas to 426 students from various programs, including two scholars from the Fellow Program in Management (FPM). The event was graced by Rajiv Mirwani, Managing Director of Bloomberg South Asia, who attended as the Chief Guest. Also present were prominent members of the IMI Board of Governors, including Sunil Mitra, Independent Director at CESC Ltd; P. K. Khaitan, Senior Partner at Khaitan & Co.; and Sunil Bhandari, Executive Director at RPSG Group.

The ceremony began with a traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by an address from Himadri Das, Director General of IMI. In his speech, Das congratulated the graduates and offered words of encouragement for their future. He urged them to embrace risk, challenge the status quo, and continue learning throughout their careers. “True leadership is defined by how you treat others as you rise,” he emphasised.

Recognition of achievements

The graduating class of 2024 consisted of students from a variety of programs, including postgraduate and doctoral studies. Sonu Goyal, Dean of Academics at IMI, recognised the achievements of the top-performing students and also honoured the Alumni Awardees for their contributions to the institute and society.

Chief Guest Rajiv Mirwani shared his experiences from over two decades in the industry and congratulated the graduates for their hard work and determination. Reflecting on his own career, Mirwani highlighted six principles that had guided him: authenticity, the importance of relationships, flexibility, and gratitude, among others.

Special awards for alumni

The ceremony also included the presentation of special awards and medals to graduates for their academic excellence, leadership, and community contributions. Distinguished alumni, such as Saumya Aggarwal (Bloomberg LP), Saurabh Vatsa (Nissan Motor India Pvt.
