Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A gang of two wheeler thieves was busted in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur, in which 6 accused were arrested in Shahpura and Panagar with 16 two-wheelers worth ₹12 lakh.

So far, police have identified three suspects in the matter and have seized the stolen bikes.

According to information, the accused sold them at scrap-value prices after stealing them. Investigators have also identified several minor suspects.

According to police sources, a tip-off revealed that a youth named Mohammad Adil, a resident of Adhartal Neta Colony, was riding a motorcycle stolen from Panagar. A police team surrounded and apprehended him; on questioning, he confessed to stealing the bike from the Panagar area.

Adil told police that, together with his accomplice Mohammad Mehraj, he had stolen mopeds from Gorakhpur and Madhotal and sold them to Saddam Usmani, who lives near Adhartal Katra Masjid, for ₹5,000 apiece.

He further stated that, with another partner, Sudama Burman, he stole a bike from Bhedaghat and a moped from Gorabazar, selling both to Om Ben, a resident of Kailash Dham, for the same price.

Adil also confessed that he and a minor associate had stolen a moped from Madhotal and another from Gaurighat, selling both to Shahid Khan of Katangi, again for ₹5,000 each.

Shahpura police later detained Ravendra alias Sagar Gontiya, who was riding a stolen bike (registration MP 20 NM 3529). During interrogation, he admitted to stealing two motorcycles and three mopeds. Acting on his information, officers recovered all five stolen vehicles.
