Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Pankaj Tyagi took over as the new Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the West Central Railway’s Bhopal Division on Monday. He succeeded Devashish Tripathi.
Prior to this, he served as Executive Director (Land & Permission) [ED(L&A)] at the Railway Board, New Delhi.
Tyagi started his railway career as Assistant Engineer (Construction) in Mughalsarai Division of Eastern Railway. In his service so far, he worked on many important posts.
These include Executive Director (Land & Permission), Railway Board; Chief Project Manager, Meerut (NCRTC); Director (Civil Engineering Planning), Railway Board; and Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination), Ferozepur (Northern Railway) are some of the important posts.
Pankaj Tyagi is a senior officer of the 1997 batch of the prestigious 'Indian Railway Service of Engineers' (IRSE) of Indian Railways. Before taking charge, he was posted as Executive Director (Land & Permission) [ED(L&A)] in Railway Board, New Delhi.
Tyagi started his railway career as Assistant Engineer (Construction) in Mughalsarai Division of Eastern Railway. In his service so far, he has demonstrated administrative and technical efficiency while working on many important posts.
These include Executive Director (Land & Permission), Railway Board; Chief Project Manager, Meerut (NCRTC); Director (Civil Engineering Planning), Railway Board; and Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination), Ferozepur (Northern Railway) are some of the important posts.
Tyagi holds a degree in civil engineering and has rich experience of technical training in India and abroad. He received management training in Singapore and Malaysia, as well as special training on tunnel construction in Norway and the United Kingdom.
His notable achievements include simplification of Indian Railways' land policy and publication of the related master circular, leadership of the alignment, planning and implementation of India's first RRTS project (Delhi-Meerut), and resolution of pending track renewal works by establishing Railway Suraksha Kosh (RRSK) as Director in the Railway Board.
