Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): State Energy Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar has constructed a 20-bedded ICU at Gwalior Civil Hospital in honour of his late elder brother Devendra Singh Tomar.
The minister used the 'tervi' money to fund the advanced medical facility for the public, instead of organising a big feast on the 13th day as part of the Hindu ritual after the death of a family member.
He said that the ICU has been built in the memory of his elder brother, Devendra Singh Tomar, who passed away on December 19, 2024. The special thing about this 20-bed ICU is it is built with CSR funds and public cooperation. This is said to be Madhya Pradesh's first ICU to be built in a civil hospital. Not only this, but the PICU has also been constructed here.
The advanced ICU will cater to serious patients in the civil hospital, Hazira. This, in turn, will reduce the burden on other government hospitals of the district.
CT scan available in Gwalior civil hospital
Similarly, the unit now has the facility for the CT scan as well. Earlier, the OPD patients and admitted patients here had to go to private labs or other government hospitals for the CT scan.
Minister Tomar has appealed to all the citizens of the city to donate generously to the Patient Welfare Committee of the Civil Hospital to ensure that these modern health services continue to be operated successfully here.
He assured us other modern health services will also be added here in the future.
