Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The 24th All India Police Water Sports Competition is being organized from February 17 to 21 in Bhopal by the Madhya Pradesh Police.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the competition at the city's Boat Club at Upper Lake on Monday.
CM Yadav said that the state police is determined to maintain law and order in the city, ensuring the safety of its citizens. At the same time, police are leaving their mark on the sports field as well.
Several members of the police force have brought glory to the country by proving their talent at the national and international level in various sports. "There is a reason why cops—right from their joining day till their retirement—are addressed as 'jawan,', he added.
'MP stands out for wildlife, we also have the most alligators'
The CM said that Madhya Pradesh has a different identity in the country for its rich wildlife. The highest number of tigers are found in our country, and Madhya Pradesh tops the nationwide list. Apart from this, now leopards have also come here, and the number of crocodiles is also the highest.
'Courage of our soldiers filled the lake with energy'
CM Yadav said that water has special importance among the five great elements. "It is a source of life. It is a matter of extreme pride that we are hosting the All India Competition in the historic Upper Lake of Bhopal built by Raja Bhoj.
"This pond is more than a thousand years old, but today it has come alive with the courage and valor of our soldiers. Their dedication towards sports has given new energy to this place. There is no sea in the state, but Bhopal's Big Pond is no less than a sea."
