MP Breaking: Businessman & Wife Found Dead At Residence In Sehore After Seeking 'Public Suicide' Permission; ED Raided Premises Last Week

Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): In a tragic incident, Manoj Parmar, a resident of Ashta in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district, died by suicide along with his wife on Friday, just a week after their residence was raided by the Enforcement Directorate.

According to information, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had conducted a raid on four premises of Manoj Parmar situated in Sehore and Indore districts on December 5. 

During the search, various incriminating documents and details of immovable/ movable properties were found and seized. Additionally, a bank balance of Rs. 3.5 lakh has been freezed.

Parmar had asked permission for suicide

During the investigation, a 6-page letter addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna, LoP Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Home Minister Amit Shah and 12 other dignitaries to, was found in which Manoj Parmar had asked for 'permission' to die by suicide in public.

Senior congress leader Digvijay Singh demands investigation 

Regarding the incident, the veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh has accused the ED of harassing Manoj Parmar, which allegedly led to this unfortunate demise.

The senior politician took to X and wrote, “Manoj Parmar from Ashta was allegedly being harassed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) without any valid reason. During Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, Manoj’s children had presented their piggy bank as a token of support.”

He continued, “A raid was conducted at Manoj Parmar's residence by ED Assistant Director from Bhopal, Sanjeet Kumar Sahu. According to Manoj, the raid was carried out solely because he was a supporter of the Indian National Congress. I had arranged legal assistance for Manoj, but it deeply saddens me to say that he was so distressed that this morning, he and his wife ended their lives by suicide. I demand an impartial investigation into this matter by the Director of the Enforcement Directorate.”

Jitu Patwari reaches Sehore

PCC Chief Jitu Patwari reached Sehore claiming the couple died under pressure due to “state-sponsored murder."

He tweeted....

"The news of Shri Manoj Parmar and his wife dying by suicide in Ashta, Sehore district, is deeply saddening. The manner in which Shri Parmar was harassed by the ED makes it evident that this was not a suicide but a murder caused by persecution. The only ‘fault’ of the Parmar couple was that their children had presented a piggy bank to Shri Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra," tweeted former CM Kamal Nath.
