MP: 9,717 People Diagnosed With Dengue In Past 11 Months; 832 Were Afflicted With Chikungunya

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Over 9,717 people have been diagnosed with dengue in the past 11 months. In a written reply to a question raised by Atif Aqueel, Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla informed the House about it on Wednesday. Six people have so far died of dengue. Similarly, 832 were afflicted with chikungunya.

According to government records, there was no death due to chikungunya. The highest number of people suffering from dengue was reported from Gwalior. There were 1, 388 cases in the district.

Similarly, 659 cases were found in Bhopal, 541 in Vidisha, 424 in Jabalpur, 420 in Ratlam, 415 in Rewa, 550 in Indore, 343 in Ujjain and 343 in Dhar. The number of dengue patients found this year is higher than that of last year.

Bhopal is number 2 in terms of mouth cancer patients

Bhopal is number two in the country as far as the cases of mouth cancer are concerned. The highest number of people down with mouth cancer has been reported from Ahmadabad. Bhopal is on number two. Out of one lakh population in Bhopal, the ratio of mouth cancer patients is 14.3%, and among women it is 4.6%.

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla gave the information in a written reply to a question put up by legislator Abhilash Pandey. Nevertheless, the government has not said anything about the reasons behind such fast spreading of mouth cancer in Bhopal.

Caesarean deliveries increasing in MP

The number of caesarean deliveries is increasing in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla informed the House about it in a written reply to a question put up by legislator Ajay Singh. There have been 6.29 lakh normal deliveries this year. On the other hand, there have been 1.18 lakh caesarean deliveries.

In 2021-22, out of total deliveries, 12.4% were caesareans. Now, it has shot up to 15.8%. Shukla admitted that the number of caesarean deliveries increased. But because of this, the maternal mortality rate and child mortality rate
