Morena (Madhya Pradesh): A group of four cheetahs from Kuno National Park caused alarm after being spotted roaming near Sabalgarh. A video of the big cats has gone viral, amplifying unease among locals.
They were first reported roaming near a nullah close to village Panchon, Birpur tehsil on Monday. On Wednesday morning they approached the Hanuman temple, located just one kilometre from the village.
As information spread, citizens expressed concern for their safety. In response, the forest department swiftly mobilized a joint team from Kuno and local officials to monitor the area closely.
No attacks have been reported in Birpur or Sabalgarh, providing some reassurance to the community.
After several days of wandering, they appeared to be returning to the Kuno, with forest officials observing them move toward Gate No. 2 by Thursday evening.
Forest Department officials are providing food and water to them and ensuring their safety, while also prioritizing the well-being of locals.
SDO of the Forest Department, noted, “A team has been deployed for their activities and the safety of the common people.”
Meanwhile, local Sarpanch Brajmohan Kushwaha said, “The villagers are in panic, but we are cooperating with the forest team.”
