Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Only 10,194 private schools in Madhya Pradesh have submitted the details of fees charged from their students. There are 34,714 schools in the state. The Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) had directed all private schools to submit class-wise and head-wise details of their fee structure, which was to be uploaded on the DPI portal.
The order was issued on October 29 last year, asking the schools to upload the information by March 31, 2025. Later, the deadline was extended to May 15.
Less than one-third of the schools have submitted the requisite information till the last date. Among the leading schools in the city which have failed to comply with the government directive are Delhi Public School, Billabong High International School, Sanskaar Valley School and Orion International School.
According to data available on the portal of DPI, the Class 1 fee of leading schools in the city ranges from ₹42,000 to ₹2.44 lakh a year and of Class 10 from ₹52,000 to ₹2.91 lakh. The schools have hiked their fees by 5%-10% in comparison to the last academic year.
Sagar Public School’s fee for Class 1 is ₹2.44 lakh a year, which is 6.85% higher than the last year while the fee for Class 10 is ₹2.91 lakh. The school has not posted details of its fees for Classes 11 and 12.
Campion School, Arera Colony, charges ₹1.01 lakh as yearly fees from Class 1 students, up by 5% from the previous year while the Class 10 fees is ₹1.10 lakh which is 5.35% higher than the last year. The school’s fees for Class 12 Science (PCB) is Rs 1.13 lakh which is an increase of 5.52% over the last year.
The annual fees for Class 1 students at Carmel Convent, BHEL is ₹56,688, up by 8% from the last year while the fee for Class 10 is ₹62,152, up by 8.46% from the last year. The fee for Class 12 Science (PCB) is ₹67,850 which is 9% higher than the previous year.
The Class 1 fees of St. Joseph's Co-Ed School, Arera Colony is ₹42,679 - almost 10% higher than the last year while the fee for Class 10 is ₹51,749 - again a rise of 10% over the previous year. The school has not furnished its fee structure for classes 11 and 12.
The annual fees of Class 1 students at Podar World School is ₹78,500 - 8% higher than the last academic year while the fee for Class 10 is ₹97,000 - 8.99% higher than the last year.
The annual fees of Class 1 students at St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School Idgah Hills is ₹1.79 lakh while Class 10 fee is ₹1.65 lakh – up by 6.76% from the previous year. The fees for Class 12 science (PCB) is ₹1.74 lakh.
