Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state government is set to roll out three key new policies – Madhya Pradesh Integrated Township Policy, Aviation Policy and Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy. These policies are currently under preparation and are expected to be presented before the state cabinet soon.
MP Integrated Township Policy
The proposed Township Policy introduces a new concept called "Work Center" aimed at boosting employment opportunities.
The Work Center will include commercial offices, markets, IT and ITES services, educational institutions, non-hazardous industries, health services, transportation hubs, and recreational activities. The minimum area designated for Work Centers will vary depending on the size of the township.
For townships with an area ranging from 10 to 40 hectares, 60% of the total area will be allocated for saleable use, which includes residential and Work Center spaces. Residential areas will occupy 80% of the saleable area, with 15% of the total units reserved for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Low-Income Groups (LIG), free from Floor Area Ratio (FAR) restrictions.

A minimum of 20% of the saleable area will be dedicated to Work Centers. For larger townships (40 hectares and above), the allocation will shift, with 75% of the saleable area designated for residential use and 25% for Work Centers. If the Work Center area exceeds 90% of the saleable area, residential areas will become ancillary to the Work Center.
Additionally, at least 35% of the total area will be reserved for public purposes, including parks and roads. Aviation Policy 2025 The new Aviation Policy focuses on enhancing air cargo, particularly for transporting agricultural produce to international markets. The policy envisions a helipad every 30 minutes of travel, with airstrips every 75 kilometers to support commercial flights.
It also proposes incentives for parking planes overnight within the state. Electric Vehicle Policy The EV Policy aims to promote electric mobility and make EVs the preferred transportation mode. It offers both direct and indirect incentives to consumers to drive demand for EVs. The policy focuses on making cities like Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Ujjain model EV cities in the state, encouraging use of electric vehicles across different categories.
