Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The election of the BJP’s state unit president has intensified activities in the party.
According to sources, the election in charge and union minister Dharmendra Pradhan will come to Bhopal on July 1 and announce the name of the new president on July 2.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, state party president VD Sharma and organisational general secretary Hitanand Sharma discussed the issue for over two hours on Saturday.
These three leaders discussed the names of state representatives for the election. Before the party’s state unit president’s election, the names of the state representatives will be published.
These representatives will vote in case there is polling. According to sources in the BJP, Pradhan, who is coming to complete the formalities for the election, will have the name of the new president.
Before announcing the president’s name, Pradhan will discuss the matter with the senior leaders of the party in the state.
As the time for the announcement of the name of the president is nearing, those who are vying for the post have started intensifying their efforts to get the coveted post.
Legislator from Betul Hemant Khandelwal is still ahead of others in the race for the top job of the party in the state.
The rest of the candidates are waiting for a formula for the election to the post. The women candidates are curious to know what the organisation is mulling over regarding their candidatures for the state president election.
The tribal candidates are also talking about what the party is thinking about giving representation to the tribal people. There are two union ministers of state, DD Uikey and Savitri Thakur, as tribal representatives from MP.
Being a woman and coming from the tribal community, Meena Singh is also trying to take part in the race for the post of the party’s state president.
The name of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla is also doing the rounds for the post as the upper caste candidate.
