Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Congress has decided to stage a sit-in on the premises of the House, raising an issue daily. The Congress demonstrated against the government on one issue or another in the budget session.
The strategy of the Congress is to put the government under pressure by staging demonstrations outside the House. A ban imposed by Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar on staging protests outside the House has failed to have any impact on the Congress.
The Congress protested as soon as the monsoon session of the House began on Monday. The strategy of the Congress is to stage sit-ins on different issues after the reservation of the OBC.
The opposition has planned to stage a demonstration against the problems of fertiliser that farmers are facing, the deemed permission given by the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), crime against women, and corruption.
A legislator of the Congress said it was their success that the Speaker had put a ban on staging demonstrations on the Vidhan Sabha premises. But the main challenge before the Congress is to raise the issues in the House. The Congress made several allegations against the government in the past.
Now, it is to be seen how effectively the opposition raises the issues inside the House. The Leader of the Opposition, Umang Singhar, has been making several allegations against the government through social media and press conferences.
But his performance will be assessed on how effectively he puts up the issues in the House. Nearly 20 months have passed since the government was formed, but the Congress has failed to corner it on any issue. Performing in the House will be a major challenge for the party in the monsoon session.
CM inaugurates Sadaneera at Vidhan Sabha
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the exhibition Sadaneera, focused on the achievements of Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan in the Central Hall of Vidhan Sabha in the city on Monday.
He said that the exhibition is a cultural effort to sensitise the society towards rivers and water sources.
Veer Bharat Trust displayed the aquatic diversity of the state in the exhibition, such as the achievements of Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign, stepwells of the state, the life force of aquatic life - aquatic life, Amritasya Narmada, major water structures of the state from the satellite view.
The public relations department and science and technology council, directorate of archeology, archives and museum and Barkatullah University are the collaborating institutions in this exhibition.
