Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Secretary Anurag Jain summoned the collector of Sehore, Balaguru K, and SP Deepak Shukla to the state capital on Friday in connection with seven deaths at Kubereshwar Dham during a religious function.
Jain took feedback on the incident from these two officers, who gave preliminary information about the deaths. Jain also pulled up both of them for mismanagement and the deaths of seven people.
The wrong estimate about the number of people in the crowd and the organiser of the event, Pradeep Mishra’s, failure to make proper arrangements for the occasion – which led to the deaths of seven people – have come to light.

The officers also informed Jain that a stampede led to the death of two persons on the first day of the event. Five other deaths occurred because of illness, anxiety and the presence of a huge crowd.
As Mishra has political patronage, the administration could not act against him. Some administrative officers have been blamed for the mismanagement.
According to sources, the axe may fall on some officers in Sehore because of the deaths. Feedback is also collected about the permission given to the organiser for holding the event.
The distribution of Rudraksha (sacred beads) was banned after some deaths occurred due to mismanagement on earlier occasions. Feedback on how the permission was taken for the event is also collected.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took feedback on the incident through intelligence. The government will after receiving the intelligence report.
