Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): CM Mohan Yadav lauded and emphasised the importance of Yoga in our daily lives while, referring it as a ‘divine gift of Sanatan Dharma’ ahead of International Yoga Day on Friday.
Yadav expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to promote yoga at a global level. The CM noted that it was Modi’s initiative that led the United Nations General Assembly to declare June 21 as International Yoga Day.
CM said "Today we are celebrating 11th International Day of Yoga under the theme of , 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health'." This initiative clearly aims to develop an inter-relationship between human well-being and the planet. "The people across the world are practising yoga, which has given relief to countless people. This is a proud moment for us," the CM said.
He further added that Yoga transcends all boundaries of religion, caste, and colour. “Yoga has heightened the glory of India across the world. It has given relief to countless people and awakened supreme consciousness,” he said.
Yadav recalled all the learnings of Swami Vivekananda, Sage Patanjali and Sri Aurobindo. While, referring to Bhagwad Gita's learning Yadav said, "Kathopanishad describes yoga as the art of controlling the senses and Bhagavad Gita defines it as detachment from sorrow. One with a peaceful mind can never make wrong decisions."
Yadav emphasised on how this ancient knowledge was overlooked and urged people to embrace the art of yoga for a healthy body and mind.
