Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh): A woman and her son allegedly killed her lover after a dispute and fled the scene, leaving the body behind in the house, as reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Sheopur on Monday.
The incident occurred in Chentikheda village under Agra police station limits and came to the fore after the victim's family informed the police.
The deceased was identified as Sanjay Kushwaha and he had been in a live-in relationship with the accused woman for the past 10 years.
According to information, arguments between them had increased recently due to Sanjay’s drinking habits. During one such dispute, the woman's son lost his temper and hit Sanjay on the head with a stick, leading to his death.
After committing the crime, both the woman and her son fled the village. Upon receiving information, Agra police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to Vijaypur hospital. Acting swiftly, the police managed to arrest both accused within a few hours.
Agra Police Station in-charge, Sumer Singh Dhakad, confirmed that a case of murder has been registered based on a complaint by the victim’s brother, Darshan Singh Kushwaha. The accused, Sunil and his mother Rampati Bai, were presented before the Vijaypur court and later sent to jail.
