Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death in Kolar area allegedly over an old rivalry on late Sunday night. The incident occurred near a tea stall in Banjari where the victim Shubham Yadav was attacked with a knife by three individuals. All three accused were arrested within hours of the incident, said police on Monday.

According to police, the victim Shubham Yadav, son of Mor Singh, was a driver and a resident of Gaurav Nagar, Kolar. The attack is believed to be linked to a previous altercation that took place on July 22 during the birthday celebration of his friend Arjun Katsi.

At that time, Shubham had a dispute with Bhupendra Malviya, his brother Golu, and their associate Akash Jinnare. Though a fight broke out, neither party reported the incident to the police.

On Sunday night, the same three accused confronted Shubham at a tea shop. In a sudden escalation, they assaulted him and stabbed him multiple times in the abdomen and on back. Shubham’s brother Narendra Yadav rushed him to a private hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, said police.

The police registered a case of murder based on Narendra’s complaint and launched an immediate investigation. After inspecting the crime scene, police detained Bhupendra, Golu, and Akash from different locations late at night.

Shubham’s body was sent to Hamidia Hospital for a post-mortem, and later handed over to his family. Police have confirmed that all three accused are in custody and are currently being interrogated.
