Satna (Madhya Pradesh): A car registered in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna was spotted burning on Monday in UP's Chitrakoot.

A burnt body was recovered from inside, with broken bangles found near the driver’s seat.

The incident is of early morning near Sikri (Aman) village in Rajapur police station area, Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to information, the car was spotted around 4:32 AM near former village head Lalta Yadav’s tubewell on the Lalta Road, which connects Rajapur and Mau. Locals who saw the fire immediately informed the police.

Police reached the scene and found the vehicle still in flames. A fire brigade was called, and after the fire was brought under control, a burnt body was recovered from inside the car.

The incident caused panic in the area, and senior officials, including Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar Singh, reached the spot. A forensic team was also called for investigation.

SP Singh said broken glass and bangles were found near the driver’s seat, indicating the possibility that the body might be of a woman. However, the identity and gender of the deceased are yet to be confirmed. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but initial reports suggest a blast inside the car could have started it.

One door found lying in bushes

During the investigation, police found the car's right rear door lying in a nearby field, and a part of a small domestic gas cylinder about 55 metres away.

More broken bangles were found on the driver’s seat, while the burnt body was located on the passenger seat.

Car Linked to Satna Resident

The Alto car (MP 19 P 2577) is registered in the name of Sangmendra Singh, son of Ramkrishna Singh, a resident of Bank Colony, Bharhut Nagar under Kolgawan police station, Satna district. Satna police have been asked to verify the owner's identity and address.

SP Arun Kumar Singh also shared that the car had several traffic challans recently issued in Prayagraj, hinting that the car was in use there for the past few days. Police are now working with Prayagraj traffic officials and checking CCTV footage to identify who was using the vehicle before the incident.
