Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development projects worth ₹282 crores in Gwalior on July 5. The key members for the inaugural event would include Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, among other BJP senior leaders.

The inauguration of these projects was scheduled to take place in April, but was postponed in the wake of the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which killed 26 innocent tourists. MP’s Energy Minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar shared the information about the inauguration of the projects, which aim to boost infrastructure and public facilities in the region.

The highlight of the initiative is the inauguration of a new Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), expected to enhance transportation connectivity. Other significant projects will also be launched, marking a key step in Gwalior’s urban development.

Road repair ahead of CM visit

Gwalior Municipal Corporation (GMC) launched a special campaign to repair rain-damaged roads ahead of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s visit on July 5. Yadav is set to inaugurate development projects worth Rs 282 crore in the city.

Officials reported that patchwork has been completed on 31 major roads, including stretches from Sirohl Chowk to Huravali Golambar, Shriram Vatika to DB City, and Agrasen Chowk to No. 6 Chowk. Key areas like Birla Hospital to Sainik Colony and Gole Ka Mandir to No. 7 Chowk have also been restored using gravel, asphalt, and murram.

Repairs were extended to critical zones near Akashvani, Agriculture Hostel, Press Club, and Rajiv Plaza, as well as around SAF Ground, Aawadpura Mod, and Hanuman Chowk. The sewer line trench from Gende Wali Road to Bhains Mandi Zone has also been fixed.

Executive engineer Suresh Ahirwar stated that the initiative aims to ensure smooth commuting and to improve overall road conditions across the city.
