Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): In an unusual case from Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur, an official complaint was registered over theft of 10 pieces of Haldiram's Rasgulla and two pouches of Rajshree Pan Masala.
The combined value of the stolen Rasgullas and Pan Masala packets was estimated to be ₹165.
The incident took place on April 24 at around 2:52 pm, when a resident of Ward No. 10, Mukherjee Ward under Sihora police station limits, lodged a formal complaint of the theft.
According to the FIR, two youth identified as Ashutosh Thakur and Sanchit Sharma arrived at the bakery late in the afternoon. CCTV reportedly shows Ashutosh approaching the sweet's counters and pocketing Haldiram's Rasgullas worth ₹125.
Fake UPI transaction
Following this, Ashutosh asked for two Rajshree Gudhkas (Pan Masala) worth ₹20 each, then approached to pay the amount through through UPI. When Ayush Vishwakarma, the complainant’s son, checked the phone for the payment, he discovered that no money was transferred.

Unsuccessful transaction made the family suspicious of the theft and they reviewed CCTV footages and discovered the theft of Rasgullas. The matter was reported to the Sihora police station on April 26, leading to the registration of a theft case against the two named youth.
This theft case has drawn quite an attention because of the unusual stolen items. The cops has initiated a probe despite of the nature of the crime.
