BHMS Doctor Held With Opium Worth ₹1.50 Lakh

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Cops at Hanumanganj police station on Thursday arrested a BHMS doctor with opium worth Rs 1.50 lakh. The accused is being questioned further to learn about the source of the opium and the persons to whom it was to be delivered, police said.

ACP Rakesh Baghel said a police team under in-charge at Hanumanganj police station TI Awadhesh Bhadoriya raided a spot at Paan Mandi and detained a suspect, identified as Rahul Yadav, BHMS degree holder. He was found in possession of 577 grams of opium stuffed in a packet. The contraband is estimated to be worth around Rs 1.50 lakh in the market.

Questioning from Rahul Yadav revealed that he bought the opium from some persons in Mandsaur district and was going to deliver it to some people in small quantities. Hailing from Mandsaur district, Rahul Yadav resides in Gandhi Nagar area and holds BHMS degree, TI added. An FIR has been registered against the accused under NDPS Act.

Man & Mother Booked For Dowry Death

Bhopal 9Madhya Pradesh): Ratibadh police lodged an FIR against a man and his mother in connection with the death of his wife around a month back. The man’s wife had committed suicide by jumping into the Kaliasot Dam. The case has been registered following investigations, police said.

As per reports, body of Neha Patil (24) was found in the waters of Kaliasot Dam. Her brother claimed that her sister was harassed by her husband Rohit Patil and his mother Manju for dowry. He said that Manju called him before taking the extreme step and informed her about the harassment. Ratibadh police said following investigations, the case has been registered and further action will soon be taken against the accused, he added.
