The incident took place in Priyadarshani Nagar under TT Nagar police station limits on Tuesday late night. A case has been registered against the accused. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest them, police said.

According to reports, Priyadarshani Nagar resident, Lokesh Ahirwar (21) is a driver at travel agency. On Tuesday night at around 12, Lokesh was standing near his house when Tilak Kamble, Prince, Purab Biswas, Smiley, Tanishq, Nihal, Priyansh and others cornered him.

They pressurised him for a compromise in a case of a clash between them around a year ago in which police have registered an FIR against both groups. The accused assaulted Lokesh when he refused for a compromise. After bashing him up with kicks and blows, the assailants fired two shots at him.

However, Lokesh escaped unhurt and the bullets hit the wall. The assailants fled the spot while issuing threats to Lokesh. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about gunshots and launched a hunt for the miscreants but they could not be traced.

Assistant sub inspector Jasram Singh said the accused have past criminal records and raids were being carried out to nab them.
