Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old woman was found hanging at her residence in Gwalior on Tuesday. Allegations have surfaced that her husband used to harass her, which may have led to the tragic step.

Reportedly, before taking the extreme step, she video-called her fiancé and informed him of her intentions. The fiancé immediately alerted her brother, but unfortunately, she had already ended her life before he could reach her.

The brother informed the police, who arrived at the scene promptly. The body was sent to a local hospital for post-mortem examination.

According to information, the victim was identified as 22-year-old Anshika Kushwaha, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Lalitpur. Anshika had shifted to Gwalior for studies and was residing at her relative's house in the Vinay Nagar area of the city.

According to sources, on October 4, she got engaged to Arjun Kushwaha, a resident of Gwalior city. Allegedly, on Monday, while talking to Arjun on a WhatsApp video call, a major fight occurred between the two.

Anshika threatened to hang herself on the video call. Scared, Arjun called her brother and told him about the ordeal. The brother promptly reached the residence, but Anshika had already hanged herself.

Police Investigation

As soon as police came to know about the incident, they rushed to the spot.

The body was sent for post mortem to the local hospital.

No suicide note has been found, but it is alleged that Arjun used to harass her, prompting her to take this extreme step.

Police have registered a case in the matter, and further investigations have begun to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
