Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The first international flight with 160 Haj pilgrims flew from Raja Bhoj International Airport, Bhopal to Ras Al Khaimah, UAE on Tuesday. Air India Express arrived at Bhopal Airport from Hyderabad with a total 108 passengers at 18:54 hrs.
The flight departed for Ras Al Khaimah as International operations carrying 160 Haj pilgrims at 20:35 hrs, according to the airport authority.
As per MP State Haj Committee, 154 out of 160 Haj pilgrims are from Bhopal while two each are from Narmadapura, Raisen and Satna.
Eighty-seven are male and 73 are female Haj pilgrims. Mohammed Mussa (18), is the youngest Haj pilgrim while Yakmal Yajdani were among the haj pilgrims.
Earlier, all Haj pilgrims left for the airport from Haj House office. There was huge rush at Haj House as family members and relatives came to see off Haj pilgrims.
Airport director Ramji Awasthi said, ‘Air India Express will operate four international flights— two each to and fro. Two will fly from Bhopal and two will land in Bhopal. A total of 300 Haj pilgrims have to fly from Bhopal Airport.’
