Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A woman in Gwalior has filed a rape case nearly 10 years after the alleged incident.
The accused, identified as Bunty alias Gyanchandra Agarwal, a resident of Narayan Colony in Bahodapur, is currently absconding.
Police have registered an FIR at Bahodapur police station and launched a search operation.
According to the complaint, the woman met Bunty at a snacks shop a decade ago, and the two became friends. They began speaking regularly over the phone. One day, Bunty invited her to his house, saying he wanted her to meet his mother.
When she reached his home, his mother was not present. Bunty allegedly offered her a cold drink, saying his mother would arrive soon. After drinking it, the woman lost consciousness. She has now alleged that she was raped while unconscious.
The woman said that when she regained consciousness, she found herself alone in a room, without clothes. It didn’t take her long to realize that she had been sexually assaulted. Bunty then entered the room, apologised, and promised to marry her. He convinced her to stay silent, saying he loved her and would take responsibility.
Over the next several years, their relationship continued. When she finally insisted on marriage, Bunty refused and told her that he is in relationship with another woman and can’t marry her. He also said that their meeting was the last time they would see each other.
The survivor approached the Bahodapur police station around 15 days ago, following which an official case was registered. The sudden revival of the case has shocked many, and police are now verifying details and searching for the accused.
After initial investigation, police have now registered a case of rape against Bunty alias Gyanchandra Agarwal. Authorities say further legal action will follow after he is caught and questioned.
