"Is This Our Delhi?": Viral Video Shows Waterlogged Government School In Tikri Village, Flood-like Conditions In Classrooms

Tikri, Delhi: Nigam Pratibha Balika Vidyalaya situated in Tikri Kalan village from Outer Delhi was seen submerged in the rainwater. The shocking video shows school students standing in the knee-deep water in the classroom and premises of the school. In another video parents were seen carrying their children in their arms through the flood-like conditions. The videos are raising student's safety and security and netizens are taking toll on the government for poor maintainence of the school.

School students can be seen sitting and standing on their benches in the waterlogged classroom with water level upto their knees. While in other video parents can be seen carrying their children in their arms to keep them safe from the waterlogged premises of the school. The rainwater creted flood-like situation in the area.

The visuals of the school are being widely shared on social media by netizens. One X user named @mediaanurag shared, "School submerged in rain, classrooms filled with knee-deep water. The video is from Nigam Pratibha Vidyalaya in Tikri Kalan village, outer Delhi. Where rainwater intrusion has created flood-like conditions. After the waterlogging, parents were seen carrying their children in their arms to take them out of the school."

Netizens have slammed government for providing poor infrastructure and facilities to the school students. One user wrote, "This is #Delhi, the capital and this is the sorry state of affairs of civic infrastructure in Delhi. Our cities are collapsing and none is made accountable for it. There is no short and long term plan, only makeshift work, photo-ops."

Another user wrote, "We won't believe this we have @ANI minto bridge visuals saying there is not water logging in entire delhi. Though we are suffering from the garbage dump right in front of our society gate."

The capital city has been experiencing rainfall for a few days, and residents have gotten relief from the scorching heat and humidity. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the Delhi-NCR regions. The minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be around 27 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively.
