Sachin Tendulkar penned down an emotional note for Rohit Sharma following his decision to retire from Test cricket on Wednesday, May 7. Rohit got his debut test cap from Tendulkar, and the cricket icon in his tweet remembering the entire journey from debut to leading Team India.

Tendulkar wrote, "I remember presenting you with your Test cap in 2013 at Eden Gardens and then standing with you on the balcony of Wankhede Stadium the other day - your journey has been a remarkable one. From then to now, you have given your best to Indian cricket as a player and as a captain. Well done, Rohit, on your Test career, and best wishes for what lies ahead."

In November 2013, during his farewell series, Sachin Tendulkar presented Rohit Sharma with his Test cap. This marked Rohit's long-awaited debut in the five-day format of the game, a debut he followed with impressive performances, scoring 177 and 111* in his first two innings

Rohit took to Instagram and revealed the news about his retirement from the longest format of the game. He uploaded a picture of his Test cap and wrote, "Hello everyone, I would like to share that I'm retiring from Test cricket. It's been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in the ODI format."

He is the only India's second captain to draw a Test series in South Africa after MS Dhoni. He finishes as India's 16th-highest run-getter in the longest format of the game.
