AB de Villiers Masterclass Powers South Africa Champions to First WCL Title

South Africa Champions are the new kings of the World Championship League (WCL), lifting their maiden trophy after a stunning nine-wicket win over Pakistan Champions powered by a breathtaking unbeaten century from skipper AB de Villiers.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Pakistan Champions faced early trouble as veteran opener Kamran Akmal fell cheaply for just 2 runs. But his partner, Sharjeel Khan, rose to the occasion with a fiery 76 off 44 balls, keeping the scoreboard ticking and the crowd buzzing.

Mohammad Hafeez (17) and Shoaib Malik (20) chipped in with useful contributions, while Umar Amin held firm with an unbeaten 36. Asif Ali added some late fireworks with a quick 28, and Aamer Yamin remained not out on 2, as the team posted a competitive 195/5 in their 20 overs.

On the bowling side, South Africa’s pace duo Hardus Viljoen and Wayne Parnell led the charge with two wickets apiece, while Duane Olivier picked up one.

Chasing 196 for victory, South Africa Champions had a jittery start with Hashim Amla dismissed for 18 by the ever-reliable Saeed Ajmal. But what followed was a batting masterclass.

AB de Villiers, living up to his "Mr. 360" moniker, took control of the chase with a breathtaking, unbeaten 120 off just 60 balls, lighting up the ground with his signature strokeplay and ice-cold composure.

At the other end, Jean-Paul Duminy provided rock-solid support, staying not out on 50 and playing the perfect second fiddle to his captain. Together, the duo chased down the target in style, with South Africa Champions reaching 196/1, clinching the game with ease and lifting their first-ever WCL title.
